Education and Spirituality

In 1993, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Southeastern Louisiana University.  After starting work at a local shelter for abused women, I went on to earn the Master of Divinity in Psychology and Counseling from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 1999.

 

With regard to attending a Southern Baptist seminary: You might wonder about my spirituality now.  I do consider myself spiritual but do not currently practice any organized religion.  I’m thankful for the time I spent in organized religious communities as I learned a lot through that time.  I have since experienced a period of deconstruction or unraveling of my faith which led me to be more open-minded about life and the human experience. I currently see Love as the higher power.  I accept you wherever you are in your spiritual journey and would love the opportunity to walk with you as you explore it.
